X-Rays in Office

In-office digital x-rays are offered at Alpine Podiatry Center. Our state-of-the-art radiology equipment produces high-quality images for faster and more accurate diagnoses without having to travel to another site.

X-rays are called radiographs and are invaluable and painless tests that produce pictures of the bones of the body by focusing a small dose of ionizing radiation through a part of the body. Our in-office equipment makes the digital image available to the doctor immediately.

X-rays are widely used in the medical community and are essential in orthopedic medicine to identify bone fractures, the type of fracture, and the shape of the fracture, as well as other abnormalities.

X-ray images are also used to evaluate the presence and severity of arthritis. The existence (or absence) of joint space between the bones indicates how much cartilage has been worn away by arthritis, thereby how severe it is.

Having the ability to take x-rays at the time of the patient's visit saves time, allows us to treat our patients quicker, and provides the opportunity to retake an x-ray if the angle needs to be changed slightly for a better view.
